COMMUNITY ARENA PROJECT
July 2011 - It's happening!
Footing for the new arena is being installed as you read this! With some luck and some cooperative weather we are hoping to put "first tracks" in the Fort Tuthill Community Arena sometime in August. Stay tuned. We feel a party coming on.

Arena Painting Day #1
A few escaped before the camera came out... but thanks so much to our sanding, priming and painting crew of volunteers on Saturday morning. All that is left of this part of the project is another session of spraying on the rest of the paint.

FOLLOW THE PROGRESS
Arena Day 5/6 — Aug. 27, 28 ------------------------------
Transformed! Part 1 of the project done. Now on to Part 2. Stay tuned.

Joe Chavez of Rid O Rock, our man with the plan, kept his sense of humor throughout the week. Thanks Joe!
The amazing pile of rocks that came out!
Arena Day 4 — Aug. 26 -------------------------------------

More ripping and screening.

Josh Chavez, helping his dad make the pile bigger.
Good side, bad side.
Arena Day 3 — Aug. 25 -------------------------------------

Rock pile is getting bigger....slowly but surely. A job for a man with patience. Quote: "This is the second worst arena I've ever worked on." Makes you wonder how bad the first one was!
Arena Day 2 — Aug. 24 -------------------------------------

After the ripper shanks get the concrete and rock torn up enough to start. It's still not dry enough around the edges, but screening begins in the middle.

The machine and its inventor/operator, Joe Chavez of Rid o Rock.

Before and after all rock to 3/8ths is removed, and starting the pile...
Arena Day 1 — Aug. 23 -------------------------------------

Before the mowing...

After the mowing and just before the rain, lightning, and hail...

Tilling it all up to dry... Stay tuned and if there is no rain tomorrow, more photos.
